Posted March 06, 2020 12:37:00In an attempt to capitalize on the growing popularity of streaming TV, Univision Corp. has partnered with Viacom Inc. to offer a $35 monthly subscription for Internet-only television and other video services.
The network’s Viacos online service will offer channels that include CNN, CNBC, USA, MSNBC, HGTV, and Telemundo, with a variety of programs including sports, news, and original content, according to a statement by the network.
Univision said it plans to expand the service to other digital-only networks such as Hulu Plus.
The Univision online service is available for about $35 a month.
The announcement comes at a time when the cord-cutting movement has taken hold, as cable and satellite TV providers have cut back on programming in the wake of the presidential election and are looking to find new ways to boost subscriber growth.
